Hi everyone,

a friend of mine gave me her 9900, that almost a year ago fell in a mop bucket, and she thought it was dead. I tried to switch it on, and enlightening it with a flashlight, I saw that the phone is still working, even if backlight seems to be gone...I opened and checked it, and it seems to be fine (it's clean, no rust or anything else inside), so I was wandering whether changing the display could solve the problem or no...

hm two of my blackberrys met a toilet neither survived very lucky my friend i belive the screen and blacklight are the same unit so yes a screen replacement should sort it but to be sure wait for others to reply cause im not 100%

Thank you then, I'll wait for others to answer...anyway I think she was quite lucky indeed, I also tried the mic, speakers, camera, wifi, bt, touchscreen, and everything's perfectly working, only the backlight is dead...

Any news? I have asked to some sellers that have displays for sales, but one of them told me that it can also be a problem due to a mainboard fault. Is there any way to check it?

Find a seller with a good return policy and test it with a new screen. No backlight = replace the screen.
