    bold 99xx? best BB ever?
    sorry...cannot agree!

i use mine since 2 years and it gets more and more sluggish and slow. the battery never gets me through a day on 3G.
memory leak and the lack of autofocus are huge cons too..have to restart my phone once a day.

in my opinion the best BB ever is/was the Bold 9700 running OS5. so stable and rocksolid and the batterylife was jus awesome. it had a better cam than the bold99xx ..les megapixel but autofocus which is a MUST have.
wanna downgrade back to it as soon as my 9900 is dead

i dont care bout the new shiny big inch phones ...oldschool is the way to go

An OS upgrade would fix those two problems (memory leak and battery). Also, don't you carry a spare battery with you? lol what kind of person has a 9900 and doesn't have a travel kit with spare battery

Yah..Definitely love my 9900. I thought that I would switch to the Q10 but didn't like the way it felt. I'm contemplating the Q30 but it will be a while. My only complaint is the SOS signal I get in certain areas that doesn't seem to happen with my wife's 9780, but not enough trouble for me to get rid of it. The best BB I've had to date!

My Dad is currently using my Bold 9930. And, although I have the Q10 and Z10 that I interchange every few days to mix it up, I miss the 9930 dearly...

Yeah, I think I've finally settled on alternating my Z10 and 9930 every few days...and maybe next July, when I can get a discount on a new phone, I'll get the Z30!

Yes, I jumped ship to a Galaxy S4 but I miss my 9900 so much I can't wait for the SIM adapter to arrive so I can revert. All this messing about with different on-screen keyboards, none of which suit, the flimsy feel of the S4 compared to the solid 9900. I was daft but I can go back fortunately.

I like my 9930 a lot, so much so that I opted to sell my Q10 to go back to the legacy device. Maybe I'll buy another one some time down the road but for now I'm completely content with my 9930.

I have a Z10 but would use my 9900 to send emails - that is until I got my Q10... now if someone would figure out how to adapt BlackBerry Traffic to the Q10 I'd be perfectly happy.

My current BB collection consists of the Z10, 9930, and Storm2. I also own a Q10 but my Dad is using it.
I still use them all, at least until my Storm2 sells on the Bay!

9900/9930 Best BlackBerry ever? IMO that would either be the Q10 or the Z30.

How can a new device that hasn't caught on yet be the best BlackBerry device ever? Too soon! It's the 9900/30 so far. This opinion should be both sales and functionality based!

If a BB10 device is going to be the best BB ever, how come I still switch back to my 9930 for a few days every now and again?

My best BB was the 9780 OS6. While my daily driver today is 9900, I often switch to the 9790 (with an Otterbox) as well, because I feel it closer to the 9780 (the same form factor, that fits my palm), and the performance is comparable with the 9900 with a better camera. I initially did not like the 9900, as I thought it was too wide.

Have had Blackberry in my heart for a while now...first the Storm 1 (that was not a good move), but went to a 9000 and fell in love. Time passed and got sucked in to the Android world. Tried an Samsung Infuse and then a Galaxy s3, but missed the Blackberry feel and operation. Picked up a slightly used 9900 (Ebay) this summer and easily see its the pick of the litter for feel, features and operation. For my needs, it is spot on. Email, calendar, texts...good deal. Decent music player too...and I can live with the below average camera.

BUT...My big question going forward is whether the slow two way syncing with Google Calendar will only get worse as the interface with Google seems so irratic. I'm not sure what the terminology is, but I would find it periodically dropping wireless sync so I'd have to reset the sync for contacts and calendar because for some reason the boxes would simply uncheck. Also, never had any confidence that the contacts and calendar was current. I've test driving a Q10 right now (again, an almost new acquisition on Ebay) but the simplicity of the 9900 keeps drawing me back. Seems like the way forward is BB10. But an updated interface with Google and Hotmail would go a long way.

Any ideas what's out there in 2014 and 2015? Will my favorite legacy device become more and more erratic?

My 9930 is my pride and joy of all the BlackBerry devices I have owned over the years. Started out with 8330>9630>9650. Of course over time I've used just about every BlackBerry device ever introduced to the market but I'm always drawn to the 9930 for the look and feel of the overall device. I've yet to try a BB10 device, the Q10 does interest me but I don't want to drop the cash on it knowing it will be entirely different. We'll see what the future holds, but for now, the 9930 is my favorite device.

My 9930 in an Otterbox Commuter has been dependable since December 2011 (company holiday bonus). It survived Hurricane Sandy, numerous trips up/down the northeast corridor, and late nights at the data center.

The Q10 looks nice, maybe even sexy. Maybe when I have an upgrade in December I might go for it. The OS scares me, I'll be honest. OS7 had its bugs but not on the scale of OS10 (again, my opinion). Also, I like OS7's BlackBerry Protect Backup features.

Bottom Line: I like the classic look of the Bold 9900 + Trackpad. Plus alot of apps haven't migrated yet to the BB10 so I'm sticking with my 9900. I don't hate the Q10, it looks nice actually. Just NOW, 9900 is better due to the trackpad + APPS.

    Not in my experience.

Had a 9900 as my daily driver since August 2011 and it has been faultless.

Yeah, and then it starts phoning you are 1 a.m. and when you pick up it insults your mother.

Very funny. The 9900 is one of the best made phones I've ever had, bar none. Never had one hardware problem with mine.

After reading this post and my admiration for my 9930 I felt compelled to post. I couldn't agree more with the OP. You name the BB device from verizon and I've owned it. That includes the 10 platform..not a fan. Gave it a fair shot just not for me. Everyone wants to talk about the HUB as being the best thing that ever happened to BB. My 9930 has the ultimate HUB its called the home screen. No swiping wiping sliding to get to it. Its there and tells me everything I need to know about my communications.

The ease of multitasking and ability to customize everything the way that is most productive for me is what puts the phone over the edge. i've used the 9930 since the week it came out. I will never use anything else for the simple fact that there isnt another phone that will allow me to do at the ease that i can do it as the 9930. Long live the KING of BB and cell phones.
