What I miss most about the 9900 is the dock so you could charge without a USB cable, auto on/off comes a close second.

Of course it is, it's newer....but there are several factors that determine best ever, and popularity with the customer is in play here. I don't doubt that BlackBerry will eventually have a device that surpasses the 9900/30 in all aspects...

    I'm excited!

I would suggest it's not the best blackberry ever.....it's the best communicator ever. :-)

I intend to continue to use mine. Further, I would recommend that anyone using an alternate os waiting for BBM on their platform to pick up a discounted BlackBerry of any kind for BBM - the ultimate communication service. :-)

While I loved my 9900, it is collecting dust now. While there are features of the 9900 that are not on the Q10, the Q10 is simply amazing for me. I would never go back to my 9900 unless my Q10 stops working.

I bought my wife the Q10. She absolutely hates it.

She has gone back to her 9900.

From my experiences with the Q10 I see her point. From a pure business stand the 9900 is superior.

    Q10 apps are abysmal

The Q10 is a joke (although I liked the Internet speeds) compared to the 9930. I use Speed Dial 90% of the time + Blue Tooth, since i drive a lot. Using the Q10 Speed dial was criminal. What were the developers thinking . I am going to the iPhone since I figured out how to put my Speed Dial numbers on the Home screen. All I have to do is press the icon, which dials the #.

After reading all the input on the Q10 I decided to pass on it & send it back to VZ. I've chosen to get the Bold 9930 once again (last time was 2yrs ago) as I'm tired of iOS (for now...). Glad to have the same features back again.

What do I know, I am just a tech *****...but in getting a new BB...I ask a lot of questions, try multiple devices (thanks to me tech people having loaners, extras, etc.), and really make sure I make the right decision -- for me. I stay with a device, often too long, but that's OK, that's me.

That said, in doing all my due diligence -- for me, the 9930 is the way to go. Sure, the newer models have a bell here, a whistle there, that can be "neat" and appealling to many. It's the so called latest and therefore has to be the greatest -- and it's all subjective in nature, perspective, and so on. Most of the people I spoke with, and across the mass opinions I've sought -- these people opt for the 9900.

But, different people have different needs and wants. Arguing about the best? It's the ultimate exercise in futility. I like the side by side comparisons as to features etc. Well, different people will be drawn to different features as being "most important" so to speak. Enough said.

The Z10 is a good attempt by BlackBerry at a full touch screen device. I did enjoy the time i had with mine before selling it and reverting back to my Bold 9900. I thought I was okay with a touch screen keyboard. I was wrong. I needed to proofread every message, text, email I sent to ensure any words were not 'corrected' to a word not of my choosing. I can slam a full email message out on my Bold 9900 without needing to reread for typos. I am way more efficient on the Bold 9900 and its tools for communication with switching, trackpad, touchscreen. Ever since the 7.1.0.1033 update, my battery issues are gone and I love my Bold more than ever. Best communication device, period.

Totally agree!! The BEST BlackBerry device ever. Still relevant today. Absolutely love the phone.

Considering this phone is clearly the best BB legacy device, it seems a lot of people who went to BB10 devices either went back to the Bold or wished they did. And I know of several people who will never make the jump from the Bold unless tech advancements absolutely make them do it.

I have a Q10 and a Z10 basically collecting dust as I only use them on alternating weekends!

I went from a 9900 to a Q10 in June. I had some initial aggregation learning the new OS. Once I got used to not relying on a trackpad I was golden! I would say that the Q10 is worth it.

The 9900 is the best legacy device overall. I do miss, still, some features that aren't for BB10.

I cant help loving so many BB devices, I rotate from the Storm2 to the 9930 to the Q10 to the Z10.

I will pass on the Z30, in hopes for a slider device. Gotta love BlackBerry!

BB Bold 9930 is what I have been using for the last year now. Bought it on eBay. Love it. As I said in a recent forum post, I may have to ditch it eventually, but as long as it works - I'm using it. It's my favorite BB ever. Having the track pad is really a deciding factor. The camera still stinks and the browser could be better, but I just love this phone. The Q10 missed the boat on retaining some old BB features that people still liked. The fact is; I don't like all touch screens and I don't like what they left out on the Q10. BTW, why do we have to convert to all touch screens? I think there's a customer base out there that would still prefer not to go that route. And I'm talking about real keyboards, not that slider crap I see on some phones. I dread getting an iphroid.

Can't agree. I feel so abandoned with my 9900. I also would like to take nice photos, share it seemlessly with my friends (who all are not using BBM) via e.g. Whatsapp & co. I can't believe that we remain on something so behind our times, just because it's Blackberry. I feel my inner voice calling for something progressive and lasting. And all I get in my head is the worsest foe: Apple. It's closed, it's proven and I somehow trust them more than Android devices. I would really love to keep at Blackberry devices. But who can tell me how long they will survive anymore? Who can tell me how long there will be some last developers developing apps and software? I just want some safety. And I know where to find it....

I got my 9930 three months ago and I love it. This phone is outstanding for what it's designed for and that is speed. Not browsing speed but speed from function to function. However the browsing speed is acceptable, no flash support though. It is a gem to hold and look at. At my work we I've played music and videos for people and there impressed how good the videos look and the quality and loudness of the speakers. The camera works well on face detection and flash off mode. The video is very good. If I had to get out the smart phone rate race today the 9930 would be the phone I'd take with me.

    bold 99xx? best BB ever?
    sorry...cannot agree!

i use mine since 2 years and it gets more and more sluggish and slow. the battery never gets me through a day on 3G.
memory leak and the lack of autofocus are huge cons too..have to restart my phone once a day.

in my opinion the best BB ever is/was the Bold 9700 running OS5. so stable and rocksolid and the batterylife was jus awesome. it had a better cam than the bold99xx ..les megapixel but autofocus which is a MUST have.
wanna downgrade back to it as soon as my 9900 is dead

i dont care bout the new shiny big inch phones ...oldschool is the way to go
