Today i had an accident at security check,
Dumb security guy put my 9780 though X-ray scanner. Moment I saw I got so furious and got angry.
But since my 9780 was already came out of scanner…. But I took battery and sim out instantly…
Now…few queries… 1. Is there any potential risk to device circuitry or memory or battery of my 9780? 2. After coming home I inserted sim and battery and things seems fine, so is it going to be problem after some time ?
When travelling with my 9700 I let the security guys put it through. I have not had any problems, only an OS6 memory leak (which I believe to be my carrier) and a messed up screen (blank white) which resulted in it being sent to RIM for repairs. However I don't believe this was because of the x-ray scan because it has happened to 4 people I know now, all with 9700's.
I really don't think X-ray scanning machines damage phones. Could you imagine how many lawyers and court employees would have damaged BlackBerrys considering they have to put their things through an X-ray machine every time they enter a court house....
i put my 9780 thru every time i go thru airport security. its never a problem. its only a problem when you have film, and even then its only for certain speed film. stop being a nancy. theres no harm done.
Well, X rays do not cause any harm to any cellphones. At least immediately... I've been subjecting my phones to all sort of security x rays and stuff and so far they have been all working good.
I travel on a weekly basis for the last 3 1/2 years and have never had a problem with my bb, labtop or any electronics going through the x-ray scanner.. Dont worry about it, pick it up and enjoy where ever you are headed
