I have a 9700 on T-Mobile, without a data plan. I am able to access the net, but only limited sites, via wifi at my house. I am connected to my wifi network with no problems. But I keep getting the upsell 'subscription required' message when I try to connect to facebook, etc.
I can get espn, and other sites, but not FB. Why can I access ESPN, but not others? Thanks, CH

ESPN is just a website, not an app provided by RIM.

If you are trying to use the native Facebook app, you cannot use it without a BlackBerry data plan. It goes through RIM's servers. Same thing with the native MSN Messenger, AIM, and Yahoo Messenger apps.
