Hello All,

Still using a 3 year old 9700 running 5.0.0.979
(Don't like OS-6, didn't want to "waste" upgrade on OS-7 with BB-10 on its way)

Anyway, about a week ago I started having trackpad issues - it simply didnt work, the push/click did but not any movements on the trackpad. After several reboots/pulls it was OK. Then it started happening more frequently. A couple days ago, everything started "freezing" - trackpad didn't work at all, keys didn't work, even the 4 "main buttons" wouldn't work. Sometimes this will last for a couple seconds and then start working. Sometimes it's a couple minutes. Sometimes I have to do a batttery pull - maybe multiple for the trackpad to work. Sometimes the keys and buttons start to work but the trackpad still acts funky....

Is this phone finally dying? It is 3+ years old and has been thru the wars....heavy usage, multiple drops.......
At first I was thining just a trackpad issues but with everything else acting funky, I'm thinking it's probably more serious.

Do I now actually have a valid reason to purchase a Q10?

Definitely sounds like the old girl is circling the drain. You got 3 years of solid and hopefully enjoyable use. I say not only do you have a valid reason to get a Q10, you deserve it.

Nice to have a true reason to splurge on BB-10, but always nice to have a working backup on hand too....
