Nope, you can call customer care though and complain
They activated mine in store and did not charge me an activation fee.
yea but that would be why they charge you a fee. How did you get them not to do it?
They just didn't charge me anything. Just $199 plus tax. Nothing was even mentioned regarding any fees on their part and I didn't mention anything either.
well hopefully when i go they will do the same thing :-)
I have a friend who works for Best Buy Mobile and a lot of times he said they won't charge the activation fee because 1) there's no reason to if it's a simple transaction (they just worry about how many activations they get per day, not how much they charge for each one) and/or 2) they make "deals" with the customers that if they buy an accessory or two, they'll waive the fee because Best Buy make more off of the accessories.
No accessories, just there at the right time I guess.
No activation fee for me at Best Buy. They did nto bring up accessories but I asked how much a memory card was and they offered it to me for $20 and change (since I was buying it at the same time as the phone)
I got my 9650 on the 19th and they were going to activate it for free, but they said its possible it might not go through with no problems so i took it to sprint store
I thought activation fees were just tacked onto the next billing cycle.

When I sold wireless, new contracts were charged an activation fee. On those who were renewing with Sprint they were charged an upgrade fee which I tried to get CS to waive. Most of the time we were able to get the upgrade fees waived.
I worked for a multi carrier and then Verizon indirect and then a Sprint indirect store as a manager. Sprint charges for everything.......a rip off
I just get it credited back with a simple call to customer care. They are usually pretty generous with the little things like waving activation.
Not true. I've been with Sprint for 8 years and have never paid any charges that I recall.
