hey everyone, ive been thinking of trying to swap my 8900 for the bold but really cant make up my mind...i love the size of the 8900 but i think i like the keyboard better on the bold...is there really any other stand out reason why switching would be a better choice? or would i be better off just waiting for the new bberry devices to be released?

At this point I'd just wait. You'd be giving up some features and gaining some. You'd lose more app memory and a better camera, but you'd get a faster processor and 3G. Personally, I'd wait for the Onyx. You wouldn't lose a thing and it would be an awesome upgrade. It's like a Bold, with more/better features that's the size of the 8900 (or close to it).

do you need/want 3G? Faster processor?

personally, the bulk alone is enough for me to NOT switch to a bold, but every time I use my brother's, my 8900 feels like a snail.

3G isnt really an issue for me, i actually find the edge on the 8900 to be really fast for a blackberry...i had the iphone first generation and it was obviously much faster, but i have no problem with the edge service...i was thinking about the bold because of the keyboard and the actual style of the phone....

I personally like the size of the Bold a lot. Smaller phones are just uncomfortable in my hands. If you like the size of the 8900 then I would wait for the Onyx. It has the Bold keyboard and 3G/WiFi.

Completely agree 110% wit u! Idk why ppl say the Bold is bulky, I dnt think is bulky @ all I think the size is perfect! The 8900 is too small idk how ppl type on it. But it really depends on the user, I think the Bold is great but if u like a smaller BB then jus wait for the Onyx

Yes like others have said wait for the Onyx... It is almost identical in size to the curve 8900, but has the Bold's keyboard.

Plus it has the same camera and app memory as the curve 8900, but the power and speed of the Bold (624 mhz processor, 3G).

What carrier are you using? T-Mobile's 3G coverage is notoriously pitiful right now, so unless you live in a major metropolitan area, a 3G phone isn't going to help you any.

I switched up from my 8900 to the Bold. I do still have my 8900 though and wont give it up.

But I love the size of the Bold. Don't think its bulky and was frustrated typing with my curve.

I've played w both the 8900 and the Bold quite a bit lately trying to decide which to get. The Bold feels the best to me! If I could only get past paying $300 + for a phone that has been out for sooo long now.
