Why is OS 6.0.0.615 available for the Bold 9700 but not for the 9780? I saw the "connection preference" feature where I can choose to use Wifi over 3G if available. I don't see that in 6.0.0.600. If it is just hidden in there, please let me know!

all BBs use WiFi over 3G when available.

and carriers decide which OSs get released.

and as its a carrier game, i see your carrier hasnt evolved past 448 for both devices

Who needs .615 when we have .646

I am tempted to try 6.0.0.646 but only one guy got mysteriously got that version with is very suspicious. Not only that, he got like 2 different versions in a span of just a few days. Very bizarre.

And I am with Rogers Wireless, but my phone is a Bell Mobility-originated 9780 so I got the latest 6.0.0.600 update without having to do the vendor.xml trick.

Thats why it is in the Leaked/Beta Forum BTFan.
I stick with .600. Its a good OS for our 9780. I will wait for the next official OS from a Carrier.

I don't care, that for other BB's, are higher OS's available.

.600 is very solid on 9780 as oppose to .615 on 9700. The reason they released the .615 for 9700 is they tried to fix the memory leak. On the 9780, its not really an issue to be concerned about.

It may be stable but I was really ticked off when I learned that the connection preference feature was taken away in OS 6. Now I'm being told that the BlackBerry automatically switches to Wifi is available, over 3G. On my brother's 6.0.0.615 9700, that feature is available.

You're tempted...the guy is suspicious??? Man what are you on about? Wait for your carrier to get your official release or get a life

I don't recall asking you for life advice. I also don't recall giving anyone on this forum my name, relationship status, job, age or anything like that. So to judge based on a username if I have a life or not is just dumb. Those who tell others they have no lives do so because they are so insecure they need to put someone else down to make themselves seem higher, thus attempting to improve their self-esteem.

I hope this is understandable for someone of your level of intelligence.

Back on topic, I guess I will wait for the official carrier release. If anyone has any answers for where the "connection preference" setting went, please let me know. Thanks!

It actually does; however, that was a well-written answer, a comprehensive and a blunt one, as well as sarcastic. The kind of answers I personally love.
