it's an apploader...basically you install it and plug in your phone then it grabs the OS for you...but it's useless for anyone that didn't receive the email.

why? don't get what you are saying, I downloaded the file to my computer, then I double click on the file and installed the upgrade, are you suggesting that after I downloaded the file to my pc the upgrade itself knows if I did receive the email? mmmhhhhhh

what happens if I forwarded the email to you?

the apploader scans your phone to figure out what provider it's for and it will go get the new OS and put it on your phone...it's not like when we download the OS, install it on the computer and then run the desktop manager...

It installed the new OS for you because it's for your provider, anyone who isnt with your provider wont have the new update available in the list.

well you can forward the email to me and i'll see what it's about.... [email protected]

Interesting that neither Kevin nor Crucial have this listed as the latest known 4.6 OS build in the OS forum . . . .

Yes, its me that had the email, and as per what was said, I now have 4.6.0.291 on my Bold.
As per the images you can see its real.
I was just as surprised and suspicious as everyone else is, as t-mob uk NEVER release an OS before everyone else has.
I check the t-mob uk download site daily to see if it has been posted and nothing yet.

To be honest cant tell a difference from my previous OS which was t-mob uk's .216.
But I dont use my phone as much as other people.
Rarely is ever any calls made or received, same with texts
usually emails and FB notifications over night.

Did see a 4mb increase in memory after a battery pull though. was 54 after batt pull, now 58 after batt pull

sorry got late to the discussion, but I upgraded yesterday, I had an amazing memory boost, from 32.9 to 46mb after baterry pull. It's been kind of a slow day but battery life seems a bite better but cant really tell.

I also upgraded from the .216 from tmobile.

I didn't need a link just loaded the DM and it automatically told me about the new OS...

will be playing with my phone tonight to see how it goes

(media loading is way faster than the .216, and had not bugs, freezes or involuntary resets

Were looking for .291 not .292

youre looking at release 292 but if you look farther down the filename you'll see the 4.6.0.162

    Applications version 4.6.0.291

4.6.0.292 is the PACKAGE version for application version OS 4.6.0.162

the link is still not on t-mob uk download site.
the 2 OS's there are OLD ones.

So far only t-mobile UK Bold owners can download WIRELESSLY via desktop manager.

    Have I covered everything now?

*JUST* found a folder in my appdata-roaming-RIM folder which I believe contains the cod files it downloaded when updating to .291
