Over the last few weeks my Bold 9780 has been extremely slow at booting up. At one point it would just hang at a certain spot, to the point where I had to do a battery pull and even that didn't work so I thought the phone was toast. Did a second battery pull and it seems to boot up, even with other battery pulls I do, BUT it's still EXTREMELY SLOW and takes about 4-5 minutes whereas before it was only about a minute and a half.

The more stuff you have in, the slower the boot up process is.

I bet it hangs at about 2/3 isn't it? That's when stuff like calendars and apps are loaded.

Clean up, delete old messages/SMS/MMS/Calendar/duped contcts/caches/etc and specially themes and apps you don't use and give it another go.

2/3, yep. But it's slow before that, too.

Just deleted apps I don't use often, also, I never save/store messages but deleted the few I had anyway... still slow. Very odd!

Edit: I take that back! It did seem to go a bit faster. Hmm, we shall see how it goes I guess.

They all slow to a near crawl at 2/3 way through the process. Pulling the battery again will only prolong the agony.

I really found I needed to pull my battery VERY seldom and when I did, I would just drop it back in my holster and move on with life. Watching it only makes it seem longer.
