I replaced my first one for some minor things that in the grand scheme of things.... are minor. I think we all have a tendency to worry about things that aren't really worth the worry.

With that said, two devices now and the only concern I have is the strength of the vibration in vibrate mode...which is what I have become accostomed to using almost exclusively.

Damn .. even in the holster this thing is barely discernable. Talking to others they have the same issue so it's not worth replacing. I just wish they beefed up the vibration a tad.

On my 9780 I could find my phone in my house by calling it even in vibrate mode. It used to shake my entire desk. Some nights it actually woke me up bedside.... this device, like I said, even in holster I can barely feel it.

Oh well ... I check my phone so much anyways that I'm not going to miss any emails or bbm's. I have incoming calls to longer vibrates and number of vibrations.

I love the device and am sick and tired of looking like a geek everytime I call for what in hindsight now are petty issues.

The trackpad has a slight wiggle, a little light seaping through the keyboard, loose bezel ... blah blah blah ... I returned 5 9780's until I was happy. A month later, even on a new device the trackpad wiggled, the bezel was loose and I dropped the damn thing so many times it was all laughable.

Now I'm just enjoying the phone.

But damn ... wish that vibrate had some more beef!!!

LoL...with Vibrate, I think you will get used to it slowly, once your mind knows how much to expect before alerting you that it is your phone. Hope, I'm right. :-)

I noticed my 8900, 9700, 9780 all had less powerful vibration than previous models (8320, 8800, 8100 and older like 7290).

If you are upgrading from a 9780 I can't say the difference is as notable as between previous models.

Yes this is indeed a great phone. Somethings like a squeaky trackpad I can deal with too. I must agree the vibrate could be beefed up a lot. I can't feel it all when I have it in the holster. Normally at work I just keep in on the desk on my mouse pad. That way I don't miss a thing.

I think you'll get used to it. I've had mine for a day now and I'm used to it already.

I am slowly getting used to the softer vibration and all squeeks are gone with usage ... Its called breaking it in! ;-)

I think the 9900 is the best device yet! Best formfactor thus far, big enough screen and robust.

I still wouldn't mind the room shaking on vibrate though. Lol
