167 (AT&T Default) was fine for me. I upgraded to 185 and noticed I did get better overall speed along with increased battery life and memory management. If you aren't having issues with your phone, I would say don't bother. If it seems slow or laggy, then go for it.

awww thank you for the reply. that makes me feel a bit better. if i personally notice any problems or battery life that i can't live with then ill do the update (:
i started at .167, then to .185, .247 and now i'm at .266. i will say it seems much much better than .167 for me. reduced a lot of lag, improved gps and wifi connectivity speed, etc. but if you're satisfied, then you might as well stay where you're at.
Night and day. 167 was horrible. 266 is fantastik. I have experienced much better performance, memory management, much fewer spontaneous resets etc... If you are just going to use the basic features of your berry you might be fine with 167. If you are going to be using multiple apps then you will notice a huge difference.

You upgraded 3 hours ago. Compared to 167 there is a huge difference. Instead saying it sucks sacks why don't you tell us what problems you are having so we can help you.

I was having gps issues with the AT&T default (frequent loss of gps signal, routing confusion) and decided to go to .266 ...
not only is Navigator running smooth, but much better memory mgmt. (to the tune of 9 - 10 mb) and apps faster in general. East Asia .266 worked wonders for me. I wouldn't hesitate to upgrade.
If you are not a power user, stick with the stock OS. I upgraded to .237 and will stay with it. I have zero issues, not sure what the advantage would be with .266 compared to .237
IMO, .237 is solid!!
os upgrades totally blow the default software away.
.266 is steady as they come. i can wait till the official os 5.0 comes out. with 5.0 and skyfire i will be rockin all night long. i am new mac user. i will have to find a way to download 5.0. only time will tell.
