What are some major differences I'm going to see from .167 (my current version) to .247?

The only reason I have .167 is because ATT version of EastAsian (need Chinese) only have .167. But looks like PCCW Mobile also have .247 EastAsia...
However, I don't feel like going through the hassel to upgrade if I won't see any major changes.

.266 is the latest update, why are you thinking of using those OS's? .266 is the most stable, check out the stickes.

.247 will give you more memory, less memory leak, quicker browser, no random reboots. Its well worth the upgrade.

Garz - are you saying that 247 is better than 266 ??

No... Just answering the OP's question. The OP did not ask about .266 but either .247 or .266 is good.

I think .266 leaks more than .247 did . . . hard to quantify, though, because it's been a while since I was on .247.

Anyway, to the OP -- aside from getting more memory, the other major (and quantifiable/objective) difference is that holding down the BB key brings up the app switcher. At least that was a major thing for me.

I found .247 to be superior, mainly for the ability for application switching by pressing and holding the BB button. Many people have had good luck with .266 too. Many claim slightly faster and more stabe (I didn't really notice). My personal experience with .266 was that skipping around in media files would force a reboot. Talk about annoying. Others have seen this as well, though not everybody. I've rolled back to .247 and the media issue went away. So, in short, I would recommend .247 over .167 and .266 for the reasons given.

.247 is way better than .266. .266 has too many bugs

I <3 .247. Very stable, much faster than .167. Absolutely no issues with it. (I've never ever used .266, my Bold or otherwise, so I can't do a comparison)

Same for me here. I was on 266 and downgraded because of this problem. I find 247 is working great and the reboot problem is solved.

I am on 266 and can confirm the media skip issue which is repeatable. I stayed on it anyway as media is not a concern for me. Something to think about though

I'm pretty sure there is a .266 that supports chinese. I think it was the original beta release and also one of the first official carrier releases I think was PCCW (Hong Kong network). Since then though i've not been able to find it =( .247 does as i have that one and downloaded from these forums, do a search for it. Unfortunately havent been able to find the .266 with chinese support since it was originally released, although I can't read chinese very well it helps for translating things with BBTrans for my parents.
Like everyone says .247 is great and has done very well for me. Thought I'd give .266 a try but really want the chinese support.
