This has been discussed before but not within the last 6 months, and i can't find a solid answer. I'm running 6.0.0.415 on the sprint 9650. It won't let me get past 160 characters. My previous android would let me. Is there a way to enable longer messages and for the phone to send the message out in smaller texts?

I don't want to use another app/IM/email/BBM. I also know there are 9650 users who can typer longer messages.

If you go over 160, the text will automatically go as an MMS, which i believe has a limit of over 1,000 characters

Not anymore, 6.0.0.600 (a few prior builds) breaks it up into separate messages (1/7, 2/7, etc)

Verizon to verizon customers should still stay at one message, no matter how long the length, no?
