I tried again today to get Google maps on my Bold, version 1.25.
First thing i did was change the browser identification to Blackberry, then back to firefox. i went to the m.google.com/maps and it work! downloaded and everything.

    I'm a happy camper now.

Edit: Maybe not. i got it downloaded ok, installed ok. but when i go to use it, it gets stuck on the loading screen, with the bar reading "3", then says that it needs a data connection. well, i wanted it to use my wifi only, so i disabled the cell reciever. hmmm. any help guys?

Can't post links yet but google "Google maps wont download, says wont work with 46 " solution was found at bbforums. Instead of dl OTA you use DM.

I downloaded my Google Maps with WiFi, not sure if that would make a difference. But worked like a charm.

My Rogers Bold is my first blackberry! So I am new to this game... How do I use DM (Desktop Manager?) to install Gmaps? The application loader wants a Alx or Ali file?

    Hi,
You need to enable 3G or GRPS connection for the first time loading. Once you finish this, you can use google map freely on your wifi.

Hey, that doesn't work either, I tired everything to get it to load, wifi only, 3g only.

Thought everything was cool when it installed, but can never get it opened still just keeps sitting at the loading screen. installed multiple times and deleted. who knows, i'm getting sick of this.

kingbernie, I got mine downloaded and installed ok by only using the Bold, but maybe that is my problem. I'm going to try and reinstall it using DM, i'll let ya know if i get the same issue. Mine still just hangs at the loading screen on my bold.

Oh yes! They dont call me the king for nothing.

I downloaded the zip file at the address above using my computer. The DM installed it automatically. I am on Rogers/running .126, but hopefully Rogers users will be able to do all that on .125.

Not bad for a newbie, uh? I dont think I will ever go back to WinMo again!
