After having 3 bold 9900 I can say that the 9790 is a lot better and without bricking issues, restarting issues, battery issues, and all type of problems you know that the 9900 has.

The battery in the 9790 does not last like the 9700 but it lasts almost double the time of the 9900.

The 9790 is smaller and lighter than the 9900, the keyboard and the screen are smaller but because it is more stable phone in all ways you will be more happy.

I don't understand why at this time blackberry has not released version 2 of the 9900 that fix all the big issues you all know.

There are no issues with the 9900, and the 9790 is a huuuge step down... anyway, glad you're happy.

I have had my Bold since day 1. No bricking, or restarting issues.

Like Phil says, the 9790 seems like a winning device, but too much like a downgrade coming from the flagship eh?

Have fun with your new device though. A ton of people like them.

After 3 months with 9900 i'm going back to 9700. The 9900 has serious radio hardware issues. If you wont agree probably you live in a good reception area. Try travelling to some other cities or countries. You'll get edge and SOS many times. The problem is that this poor reception affect the call quality, and you have many call lost, call not completing and many noise during calls. The steel edge is beatiful, but a great mistake from RIM, it affect the signal reception. If you use bluetooth, it'll be even worst. The battery life is anothere serious problem for a business phone. Recharge or change the battery in the middle of the day could not be serious... The OS 7 is beauty and added many functions but it is not so smooth, simple, fast and lag-free like OS 5 was. OS 5 was not builded to our eyes, it was made to work seriously, i mean : excelent call quality, excellent battery and no lag multitasking or switching programs wich should be the main features for a modern smartphone. Sorry but if we have a phone that everybody keep asking for a new OS release, or keep asking if this os that issue had been corrected on the new OS version i think something is wrong.... (ok, the 9900 have the best keyboard ever ...)

So if I'm not smart enough to get my 9900 running properly than I should downgrade to a lesser phone based on the same technology to solve my problems?

I just upgraded to the latest update and I think the battery issues have more or less been ironed out, at least for a battery of that capacity and on higher res screen. It also seems more stable, with little to no crashes. I feel that is reason enough to keep the phone.

I had the 9790 before the 9900 and believe me. on 7.1 the battery life is almost identical. Yes. the radio signal needs addressing on the 9900 but apart from that it's a far superior device.

I have none of those issues with my 9930 and would never downgrade to another bb. Absolutely love it and parting with it would surely make me cry. To each his own tho - enjoy!

9790's keyboard is smaller. For me this is very important. Never had any problems with my 9900 for 8 months.
Maybe your units were all defective. Get Hungarian one and feel the power!

This thing is not being smart enough, this issue is because the 9900 has a lot of issues.

I bet that all of you with the 9900 needs to restart the phone every 3 days because it gets too slow and slugish.

I need to restart my iphone 4S every month or every time I think it will be faster.

The 9900 is like windows 95, you need to restart it all the time.

My 9790 don't have the issue that gets slugish.

    * If you remeber my story the first 2 bold 9900 were bricked, then the 3rd one was stolen, and recently my old 9700 died, that is why I choose the 9790 instead of buying again the 9900.

The people who are complaining about battery life on the 9900 obviously never owned an android. I always had to carry an extra battery to get through the day. Now I get a day to a day and a half with a single charge. Haven't had any problems with it freezing up or reboots either.

Truth be told : my HTC One X runs a full day like a champ, sometimes even longer than my BB 9900. So this argument isn't valid now.

That said, I have been running my BB for a good full day now too, so the software update must have done something good.

I've had the 9000, 9780, 9900 and now 9930 and I still think the new Bold (9900/9930) is miles ahead of the other devices. IMHO, it has the best keyboard, screen and processor speed is a big boost. Sure battery life is about 30% poorer (for my usage, compared to 9780) but it lasts a full day with heavy usage anyway. My wife's iPhone4 does not even last as long with less services in the background. I'm not complaining.

The battery is the biggest issue in a 9900.
And so does the very bad build quality. According to the local Blackberry sales and service section back in my province, there wasn't any other handset from RIM which had so many build quality issues. 9790 is not much behind either. But still better.

Nope not tired of it at all. In fact, the only reason I see to own the 9790 is for the autofocus.
