Can anyone tell me whether the Bold 9900 has a Mobile Hotspot functionality for AT&T users in the U.S.? I just called the customer service and the sales people are limited to reading the BlackBerry website and such while trying to sell you their products / services -- in other words, the dude did not know jack about the Bold 9900. Doing searches for Google and on this CrackBerry website, I find a lot of posts regarding "my hotspot stopped working". So what is the deal -- is there a mobile hotspot and does it work?

Until the 9900 is updated to 7.1 there isnt any wifi hotspot for you. The 7.1 update was only for the 9930. There is confusion about these two phones because we almost always regard them as the same device. The updates are specific for each separately.

Not trying to argue, but my 9900 is running 7.1. It is a leaked version, but it has hotspot, no NFC or UMA (T-Mo only) though.

Thank you both for the low-down on 7.1.

Using mobile hotpsot through Verizon. $20 for 2GB. I'll probably only use it for a month. I really don't have a need for it. But it does work... Had 2 laptops and 2 other wifi capable devices connected.
