    I'm not pulling the trigger, but you can if you want. Just keep in mind that assuming the seller is for real and sends you a pre-release unit, RIM may end up blacklisting the PIN when the phone goes official.

    I bought a 9780 earlier this year on eBay. It was from a RIM Aus/NZ employee. PIN was blacklisted by RIM in Canada. Nice guy .... luckily he took it back and refunded my money before I went to the police.

    Personally, I wouldn't trust these pre-release items. Not only do these devices sell at a premium but you run the risk of your PIN being blacklisted.

    You only live once. I have had MANY pre-release devices from RIM and not a single one was turned off. In fact, some are still in services after two years.

    Not saying it can't happen and there is risk, but there is risk in driving your car to the grocery!
