Well, either T-mobile (available 8/31 as 9900) or Verizon (available as 9930).
All us AT&T users are suffering until they release it
Verizon wont work in Germany so it then must be Tmob.
Any ideas if they will sell it without contract and to what price?
verizon or sprint bold 9930 wont work in germany? its a world phone..will work gsm international (sim card)
as far as i know verzion uses CDMA and that is not supported in Germany... but I,m pretty sure the phone itself will work to make and receive calls/sms.
runs cdma here in usa...u can unlock to use on att and tmo (gsm) but wont run 3g...instead more like 2g...the 9930 is cdma/gsm. you can use it in germany but i dont think full 3g...like you said...need a 9900 for full operation..i believe so
ok so tmob! :)
Is there already a price available?
you will have to buy the T Mobile Version. I believe the price is between 500 and 600 US. However it is launching @ TMobile Germany in September as well. I would get that version to fully utilize the 3G / H+. And you will have your qwertz keyboard...
Alex, what provider are you using now? The Sprint and Verizon 9930s are World Phones with quad-band GSM abilities so you can use them in Germany.
with the 9900 version I should be good and able to fully utilize the 3G/H+ ??
QWERTY keyboard is not a problem I'm using the Bold 9780 with this keyboard and fine with it.
The reason for me to buy it in the US is price (good currency conversion) and the earlier release date...
the problem is that when it comes out in germany it will set you back between 500 and 600 EURO!! which is about 700 to 800 usd....
the dollar is weak, so we got to profit of that.. :)
9930 will work in Germany using the GSM side. The T-Mobile USA 9900 will also work in Germany on EDGE, if the carrier supports it. T-Mobile USA uses 2100mghz bands, which virtually no other carriers in the world use (except mobilicity canada) It's been talked about on this board dozens of times, just search around.
not completelly right!
the bold 9900 support "9900: Tri-BandHSPA+,Quad-BandGSM/EDGE" so it does not only support tmob 2100MHz...it supports also the other frequencies of the german carriers... so 3g/HSPA can be used?!

thanks for the info but 800 sounds to much even the phone might be worth the money...regular price should be around 550$.
If I pay 800 i can also wait for german release with qwertz keyoard...
