    Hi guys,

    Anyone uses whatsapp for blackberry?

Is there anyway to hide or disable your status/activities on whatsapp?

    Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Will like to know if there's any way to turn off your last seen activities. In whatapps, I understand that if you sent your last text at for example 12pm, you status will show " last seen at 12pm". Is there anyway to turn this function off. I prefer not to let all see my activities on whatapps for personal privacy reason. Thanks.

No such setting - your baited up by whatsapp... Sorry

It should be noted that the 'last seen' time often goes a bit mad - but there is no way to switch it off.

I can confirm that. If you like privacy then gtalk is what you should use. Whatsapp is extremely transparent

I don't like how anyone who has you in their address book has you in their Whatsapp contact list. It's not like BBM where you can manage contacts and accept/decline invites. i think transparent is the right word to describe this app. For that reason, I deleted it.

It's one of the things I find quite annoying about it actually, and would dump it were it not for the fact that I have a handful of people on other platforms that use it, and aside from texting,
it's the only option. And I've tried other im apps. Didn't like any of them. Could be just the BB versions, but it is what it is.

All versions of whatsapp show the last seen time of any given contact (even if they have had the app then removed it) its platform independent and will show up on any device not just the BB version

Kik would to me, be a brilliant app if it was sold in the BB App Shop! Because it is not, it doesn't support the profiles, and thus the LED, etc. Most annoying really...

That's the reason why i refuse to use Whatapp... i'm not even sure transparent is the right word... i think spy is describes more for whatsapp. i dont use it on my 9900 but on the z10, at least you have the option the decline its accessibility even then it's the most invasive app ever!

I swiped down to get the settings on my Blackberry and changed everything to "nobody", then messaged it from my android phone and as soon a I did, "online" appeared as my status for the Blackberry account.

    It appears there's no escape.

Correct - you can *not* hide the fact you are online, the most recent update also gave us 'delivered time' and 'read time' which you can't switch off either. So either someone sees you 'online' or you get baited up when you read a message anyway...

No escape other then to not use the app at all.
