Want to compare costs. I'm from holland and with vodafone i'll be paying:

    1-yearcontract, 250 minutes/sms:
    35 euro a month
200 euro for the device itself

Is that a fair price? What (will) are you cb'ers (be) paying?

Vodafone in the UK are selling the Bold 9900 for free on a 24 month contract at 41 per month

    24 x 41 = 984.00

Or the equvialent of my contract 26.00 a month

    I would have to pay

    299.00 for the handset then
    24 x 26 = 624

    Total Cost 923.00

    or

Handtec are selling if for 496.79
    Amazon UK 519.99
    Play.com 519.99
    Expansys UK 519.99

If i was going to get one i would buy it outright as i get alot more Txts/Minutes with my own contract than i would if i switched.

Yes but you get 900 minutes, unlimited sms, 500mb data, 1GB of BT openzone wifi, 25mb of daily roaming data and 10 sms of daily roaming, all in all a pretty good deal if you travel a lot or live in NI where you could be roaming in 30 minutes drive

That is true and I do agree they have a better deal but my orange contract costs me 30 a month with 1200 minutes 500 txts then add on blackberry data 5 a month

35.00 month which for me Is perfect and it is also a 1 month sim only deal I talk a lot more than txt.As I said I agree vodafone have a better deal but where I live there reception is rubbish for vodafone and now orange have merged with T-Mobile I have yet to find an area where I cannot get a signal as it auto switches between the two networks.

So for me it makes more sense to stick to Orange

I believe with Orange I also get Unlimited BT openzone wifi but I may not be correct

And as stated before 24 months is along time to be tied to one phone/contract

Yeah, you also get UMA calling, I used to be with orange but signal at my house is pretty bad and my broadband is too slow for the uma calling to work properly

My wife is still on orange though so we get the 2 for 1 wednesdays movies.

well, i'll have to pay full price which will be about 550-600 euros i think
then i'll pay 25/month for inet flat (5GB, after that throttle speed down to GPRS)

then i'll also have to pay for every phone call/sms etc, but when i exceed 51 euros, a "cost-airbag" will be activated which means that after i exceed 51 euros i'll have a phone+sms flat
    +5 euros for BB-option

    -> 550-600 for the device

    51+25+5 = 81 euros/month
