What was the processor before it became 1.2GHZ?

Was it some ridiculous processor? I always wondered about the power of my BB BOld 9780 and i know it id weak compared to ANdroid and the iPhone.

pretty sure the Bold 9000, 9700, 9780 and Torch 9800 all had 624Mhz processors.

624mhz, but it was an older architecture than todays current chips, so it was even slower than the Mhz would suggest.

you'd think they would upgrade it from the 9000 but they didnt and that kinda screwed them up in the browser compartment

The Bold 9780, 9650 have 624Mhz...so does the Style...but I heard RIM was just happy to release a 9780 Bold type device with just 800Mhz...until some smart thinking people thier said "We need to really upgrade, not ingrimental upgrades lol

I heard originally that the Bold 9900/9930 was going to originally have a 800mhz CPU...thank god someone said WTF and told them to beef it up because hardware wise BB's have sucked *** big time compared to the Androids and now the new iphone5 which is due out.

Hopefully now the playing field has levelled somewhat but still feel RIM is behind hardware wise compared to other manufacturers...

If it were that high, your battery would be dead in minutes

Now, I could believe the 9900 originally having a 800 Mhz processor (like the new Curves) and then get bumped to differentiate between Bold and Curve series, and of course so they can catch up to the competition.
