4 weeks ago I shelved my Torch in favor of an iPhone 4. I have yet to regret it. I do miss BBM, I will not lie. And for a few days I played Angry Birds quite regularly. Again, not gonna lie. But now, I'm using it the same way I used my Torch: messaging, calls and surfing. And it does the surfing part way better. Messaging and calls I see zero difference in. If RIM can give me an iOS browsing experience combined with a more 'modern' user experience on the new BBOS 7 devices I'll happily kijiji my iPhone and get either the Bold 9900 or Torch 2.

But unlike my Torch 1 I WILL try before I buy this time. RIM got me twice in under a year with the Torch and PlayBook. I want hands on pre-purchase this time around.

I had the iPhone 4 since launch and then a couple months ago I switched to the Torch - the BlackBerry itch caught me, plus I made money which was another reason I made the switch - and it only took 28 days to realize that a: I missed iOS and the iPhone 4, and b: I only had two days left to return the Torch and the white iPhone 4 had just been released that day.

It's funny cus I didn't even think about it; I just woke up one day, quite literally, and thought to myself "there's a return policy! DING DING DING!!!"

Anyway, on to address the second half of what I quoted here - iOS 5 has your BBM-woes in mind, iMessage will provide a much similar service.

It's just the combination of both a Full Qwerty Keyboard and Intuitive Touch Interface. This definitely speeds up a whole lot of things!

but this phone (9900) is priced a bit on the higher side..... it is priced at Rs. 32,500 in India. You could get an iPhone for that price. Can somebody explain RIM's Strategy over here....

In a market where Nokia is as popular as Blackberry and people say; "What's an iphone" RIM can get away with charging that price.,,,
...RIM had better squeeze all it can out of the OS7 devices because by next year.
...Apple and Droid will have saturated that market.

I loved my bold 9000. Was glad to see RIM bring back that form factor, with the improvements under the hood. I was leaning toward the 9810 torch 2 (I have a 9800), but the more I read the more I like the 9900, plus it has the NFC. The NFC concept sounds cool!

I have been using a Storm 1 since the February after it was released. I dropped it 1 too many times and finally it had enough. I carried it naked for the past 6 months.

I am not using a Droid 2. The interface of the Droid is just unexplainable. I hate it. The on screen keyboard sucks and not to mention the slide out keyboard.

I hold it in my right hand. How the heck am I supposed to slide the keyboard out with one hand? Hold it upside down? Honestly who designs this crap?

Absolutely. I am trying to understand as much as I can about it. I deployed a barcoding plan at my office a couple years ago so I am really interested on how NFC can help in other aspects of the business. Both internally and externally.

Just haven't found a cool, open, active forum and company to learn from.

The form factor is perfect, and the guts are at least at parity with the rest of the smartphone pack.

First place : Processor. It is just fast, the fastest for a BB, even though still cannot match Samsung Galaxy S2, but it is much faster than my Galaxy Tab 7 inch! If you love browsing, then BB9900 can do it rather well..

Second maybe the keyboard..
