No, that is one of the instructional video files.

The stock backgrounds were easy to find and remove.

I just deleted all of those files and wiped my phone, but the intro instruction video remained.

BB Boss allows one to shrink directly on the device without reloading an OS. You could use it to remove the sample video.

The 'intro' video, along with several others, are not part of the OS and can't be removed.

They are hard-coded into the phones System memory...

Files > File Folders > (Menu) Show Hidden > System > Toolkit

Thanks! I was not aware that this was something that could not be removed on OS7.

Could the wallpapers be hard-coded as well since you can't get rid of them either?

    I'm not entirely sure Hank.

When I first got my 9900, I updated the OS and shrank it in the usual way using BBHybrid Tool, checking the default background images to be removed. The wallpapers were deleted from the phone, and have been gone ever since. I thought nothing more about this until recently.

When I got my 9790, I did exactly the same thing however the wallpapers remain, and I cannot remove them no matter what method I try.

The default wallpaper cod in previous OS versions always used to be something like net_rim_bb_media_backgrounds_640x480b.cod and when this file was removed from the OS, the wallpapers were deleted from the Media folder. I definitely removed this cod from my 9790 OS, but it does look like the background images are locked into the device as I cannot delete them now.

I have never seen a cod that had the word background in it and I used BBoss to shrink and to get rid of the wallpapers, b ut the still remain.

Perhaps its a 9930 thing or a software version I am using causing to be part of the core system and unremovable.

Yeah, it stinks we can't delete all of the instructional videos. Almost 20MB of wasted space right there....

Look in the java folder of your os and delete the cod that says backgrounds then load the os.

    No they can't , they're hard coded.
