Hello, I have the first Torch and now I'm considering in buying the new Bold Touch.

But what version I should buy? The 9900 is 600 euros (no contract) while the 9930 is 560 euros.

And another issue. If I buy a 9900 from US will it work on my carrier in Romania? That's Vodafone...

You need the 9900, if I'm not mistaken the vodafone Romania is a GSM network, the 9900 uses GSM and 9930 uses CDMA.

Yes as long as you unlock it.

No need to do that. I don't think anyone could unlock it right here. I will buy it from here and I will stick with a 9900. Hopefully I won't have battery issues.

In primul rand, in cazul in care cumperi un BB din US, verifica bine frecventele de gsm care le are tlf cu frecventele retelei unde vrei sa I'll folosesti.

    Success

i use a 9930 on orange romania, with BIS plan . works like a charm, 3g and all the stuff. orange and vodafone use 900/2100 bands for 3g. the only problems will be if the phone is used with cosmote.
i also bought it as it was 80 euros cheaper than the 9900. there's also a guy on these forums that uses a 9930 on vodafone and there are no problems for him too, 3g, BIS and all bells and whisles.

the only problem is to be sure that the phone you buy is brand new, so you won't have problems with previous activated BIS accounts.

    Good Luck!

Is there anyway I could get some service books for Romanian networks? I have been trying to get those for a long time. I sold a couple of BB's in RO and almost all of them don't have a BIS plan, just a "dumb iphone type" data plan. If I could get ahold of carrier service books I can get the phones to work with a wap plan, mms and data included.

    Thanks

9930 e "world phone" deci banuiesc ca ar trebui sa mearga si in RO...

Where did you buy the phone from? Is it from Romania? I found the 9930 with 560 euro and the 9900 with 600.

The problem is that if we go to 4G in Romania this 9930 won't work, correct?

    Have you experienced battery problems?!
