I have an upgrade with bell that I havnt used for about a year. Time for a new phone now! I'm trying to decide between the bold 9930 or the htc sensation. I'm currently using an iPhone and starting to hate it. So my question is, do I want for the bold to come out? Or just get the sensation. I used to have a bold 9700 and got rid of it for my iPhone. Keyboard or not, it doesn't really matter to me. I don't really see an advantage of getting a bold other then bbm. What do you think?

Bell will be getting the 9900, not the 9930.

That's good. Verizon Wireless will be getting the 9930. My carrier is Verizon Wireless. Therefore, I will be getting the 9930. Either way, the OPs point was put across. The 9900/9930 are the same exact phone with different radios either GSM/CDMA/whatever the specific carrier might require.

My upgrade is coming soon as well. Gonna try to hold onto it till next year to see if any "superphones" show up. My Torch is still holding up so we will see......That is if RIM is still around by then

    wait for it.

if not for the 9900, then at least check out the competition when the slew of new devices are released for BTS.

I went to At&t from vzw since I was told I was in a known reception area and they were not going to do anything about it for 2 years. I got talked into an Android, the Atrix specifically. I had it for 2.5 weeks and decided I just didn't like it for when I do work on my phone, which is 75% of its use. The calendar for me wasn't good enough, I did not like using google calendar either. (I am one of the rare few that use Lotus Notes) I really did not like the fact that most if not all applications could lunch and run in the background on the android which would cause slow downs. Overall I found out I do not like the full touch screen, I think I could type faster on it, but I wanted more hardware buttons (mute button I use a ton) and something more locked down and that I don't have to run anti-virus software on. I also felt like I was doing twice the button presses to get to the same place on my BB versus the Android. Getting to my mail accounts is way easier on my BB. Additionally, I could not seem to find a spell check on the device at all, which I expected it to have enabled on it. If I did it again, and I do not like Apple to much, for a personal fun phone to play games on, I would do an iPhone. Because, while the Android is fun, I didn't have time mess with it and i would want something that just works. IE BB or iPhone.
So for business and some pleasure: BB
For pleasure and some business: iPhone

I would like to see where Android goes in a few more years, but for now, I will pass on it and keep my BB.

Odd though that you have you Carrier listed as "BELL" but are using a Tour 9630, a CDMA device. Are you sure about that?

9630 is a World Phone if it is the same one that I have from VZW. I am now running AT&T on it too.

Bell was CDMA only, but launched HSPA+ recently.

All Canadian providers have deployed HSPA+ networks but only Rogers has EVDO 2G as a fallback.

All Canadian carriers' modern handsets will be GSM.

Right. Just in case you didn't get that, Bell has not sold a CDMA phone since the Tour. They have transitioned to a HSPA+ network which is why they started selling the 9780 instead of the 9650.

Good grief! Your Canadian carriers are weird.
Don't get me started on 3-year contracts too!

Definitely wait for the BlackBerry Bold 9930. It's legit a month away, perhaps maybe even a few weeks away with the latest rumors surfacing.

I'm really tempted to sell my iPhone 4 soon. I'm ready to come back to the other fruit. Any idea on its no-contract price?

If I had to guess $500-$600? Maybe more? Seeing as the UK versions are $800+ USD I might be low balling RIM here.
