Just upgraded from a 9810 to the 9900 on Friday. So far I am quite impressed. Very stylish and yet typically BlackBerry great build quality and the smaller screen is more than offset by the absolutely amazing keyboard. I seriously cannot imagine why someone would type on a screen when a keyboard this good is available. Still trying to figure out what can be done with NFC
P'S When I was at the Bell Store two other people were "upgrading" to 9900's from iPhones. One was paying cash and said he absolutely could not stand the iPhone for another day.
The 9900 is outstanding! Good luck with it. Every time I have to help my fiance with her iPhone I want to scream. That thing drives me nuts (but she loves it).
I was out with a buddy who has an LG Optimus, and when he saw my Bold his exact words were 'Whoa dude that looks fxxxxing sexy' lol I showed him some texting shortcuts I have set up for myself he was really impressed.

Yes, the keyboard on 9900 is amazing and also addictive.
Regarding what you can do with NFC now (before NFC payment, access control, etc are rolled out) see the thread/articles below:

The Bold 9900/30 is one of a kind! There really is no other device like it! I believe it is a True Smart Phone. All these other devices do all these cool things, but can't do the simple things well which the 9900/30 does very efficiently! I'm not even interested in BB10 because I'm satisfied with My 9930
