    Hi,

Have been browsing various thread, many outdated...
Can someone let me know the optimal SW build for 9900 from the battery life stand point.

I am currently on ATT official build 5.0.0.733, and forced to stay in 2G mode to get a day of use.

I'd like to upgrade to start using 3G. Prefer something stable, but battery life is a must.

    I hear 590, 585, hybrids, 7.1 leak.... really confused

    Thanks K

P.S. A link to how to make a hybrid, if that's your suggestion, would also be much appreciated.

There is no right answer to your question, battery life is very subjective and dependant on your individual useage, the apps you have installed and the quality of your signal.

Also depends on whether or not you want to stick with 7.0 or try 7.1

From personal experience the best 7.0 was the .585/540 or 503 Hybrid. From memory, you will find instructions from Phill_UK on page 2 of the Official .585 thread buried somewhere in this forum. Easy to do and worked a treat.

For 7.1 nothing to choose between .205 and .267

    Suck it and see.

That dinosaur radio swap was ok back in the day... but I wouldn't recommend any OS7 build to anyone anymore.

7.1 is where the party's at today

The most recent one OS 7.1.0.267 is the best for me. My battery life almost doubled with this version of the OS. However, remember that features like wifi hotspot, DLNA, etc will drain your battery.

However, 7.1 for ATT they took out 2G/3G. It's just 4G now.

Yea I noticed this too. By a rough estimate, I think my phone drains at like 5% an hour. I think it has always been that way though just because of the programs I like to have running. Instead I just stash charging cables everywhere. Often times it can go from 6am-midnight without worries but on those rare occasions I'll just charge it for 15minutes. One thing to remember, this thing charges fast!

If you want the 2G/3G option on 7.1 you have to get your hands on the 7.1.0.74 its the only one I have found that still has that option.

Are you saying if I install leaked 7.1 and connect to ATT, they will somehow remotely disable 2G/3G option?

Note, on my 7.0 official ATT OS, 4G is not even enabled.

is 5% drain with active use, or with a lot of idle time? What is the idle time battery life with 7.1 and 4G option only?

    Need I say more?
Usually it would say 2G/3G in the Mobile Network category.

I think they took it out in 7.0 too.
