But why is Sprint charging $249.99 when Verizon is charging the standard $199.99 and where did you get this ad? on Sprint? and what area of Sprint's web page?

I guess it is all marketing strategy, I will be paying outright the $499. Seems like Sprint has it at $249 for those who wants first hands on the 9930. This slide was pulled from the CB homepage, courtesy of Michelle.
That's the only part of this announcement that I'm hoping is not true! The price! It just seems awefully pricey! If true, I wonder how long it would take to drop to $199?!

I am almost certain 3rd party retailers will have it at a much lesser price, Walmart & RadioShack notably.
people, do not forget about the $50 blackberry trade in offer. But, yeah, like hellohazards said above, those kiosk retailers in the mall will give you better price...

$83 for my 9670, only $48 for my 9650 according to sprint.com/buyback. BlackBerry Tradeup will give me $65 for my Bold, so I may just send it to them.
I'm buying it out right, I used my upgrade due to the unsure release dates and that epic was becoming an epic pain in the ***. so a sale here and money move there I'm on topnof the 9930. OT HERE I COME!

Our BB Rep brought this phone to our store to play with it and let me tell you this is what BB phones should've been long time ago. Price wise? meh, I doubt it will attract that many customers.
Earlier today I visited a Sprint store in Northeast Ohio, and well, it was a very frustrating experience. I was messing around with the PlayBook and got on the subject of upgrading in a week or so. After a few minutes, the rep told me flat out that the new BlackBerry's wont be coming in until the last week of September. I really dont believe him, I'm almost certain he was just saying that so I would buy a droid, but it just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Basically, I dont know what to believe.
@ $249.00 the price will insult MORE of the few potential buyers the 9930 will have interested in it....
...An increasing Market share of a diminishing demographic.
I'm pretty sure inside of 1 month the phone will be $99.00 for a two year contract.
Based on reviews of this phone and the general attitude of people who've used it, I think this phone just might be the best selling phone RIM has ever had. I'm actually really optimistic about RIM's future right now.
