I have an unlocked tmobile 9900 (just got it) tried to upgrade the OS but find it has Verizon version of OS on it. If I upgrade it from that page does it matter if I download from Verizon (which I think it will try to do)? Would I have to do the voodoo trick of wiping the phone (have no idea how to do that)?

T-Mobile is a GSM carrier. Verizon is CDMA. I doubt you have a Verzion OS on it. What version OS is on it?

Download any carrier or leaked OS you like, delete the Vendor.xml file (s) and away you go.

This one is the latest release:

    9900 - 7.1.0.284 - Downloads - BBH-Plus Forums

Argh was at that screen before but now have no idea how I got there. I'm a complete dummy when it comes to smart phones. Any clues appreciated.

Left alt, right up arrow, and "H" all together.

When you get to that screen, post the Vendor ID number and the App version.

Thanks for quick replies. Lots of small keys to press with these old hands.

    Ok, I have app version7.0.250(1315)

    Platform5.0.0448
    vendor 100

No idea what these numbers mean. Notice the version is 7.0 not 7.1 though. Now what do I do to upgrade? Thanks

You probably need to read the "How To" section and get a feel for upgrading before you try. It's not a hard process and you'll be cooking in no time.

I will tell you Vendor ID 100 is not Verizon (which is 105) and ATT is 102.

You'll need to download the OS you want to use (.284 is the latest for the 9900's), install, delete the vendor file and you'll be good. The guide will get you through it.
