So i have an unlocked Blackberry 9930. I recently upgraded to the new Z30. I gave my mother the old phone and told her to put her ATT sim card in, wipe the phone and when it comes back on follow the prompts and it should work. Now she did that and its not working. Plus it still shows my number on the phone. What am i doing wrong? I thought that secure wiping the phone and having her put in her ATT sim card should work? I verified that the phone is unlocked in the settings of device>advanced options>. Can anyone help?

    1) You need a BlackBerry data plan
    2) You'll never get 3G/4G on AT&T

I dont think that it has anything to do with a Data plan but i might be mistaken? I found some other posts about my issue and they state to type ##000000 to reach the CDMA edit page and remove the old number from the first line and save.

    1) you WILL get 4G if you get a blackberry plan. (check the specs if you don't believe me)

    2) even if you DON'T and even if you never tell AT&T which phone it is. the phone WILL work for text and phone calls. But you CANNOT even make a phone call correct?

I THINK that the phone is NOT unlocked. I don't know where you're looking at but I'd simply go to ebay. pay the 99cents it costs now a day to get the unlock code and follow their instructions. because you should be able to make a phone call no matter WHAT you have on your blackberry if it's unlocked.

If it is Verizon branded and worked on a Verizon line, it is a CDMA device. ATT works on GSM. They're not interchangeable.

Well so it wont work even if he puts his sim card in it? I thought that if it brought a Sim card it meant it was CDMA/GSM dual compatible?

You have to get the Verizon 9930 unlocked from Verizon, but once it's unlocked it'll work on At&t sim cards. As the first post days though, you will only get 2G.. unless at&t has switched around certain bands. I don't remember the radio frequencies exactly but I had one on At&t a year or 2 ago & edge (2G) was the best it could do

Sent from my Note 4 SM-N910T on At&t
