I have been reading the forums and seeing that people are unable to get BBM, internet and stuff on their Sprint 9930 when they switch carriers. And that you can only get 2G. Is that the same if I travel abroad (say the Caribbean)? Would my BBM be down? My home country is on GSM with 3G though.

You should be ok in the Caribbean as they the 9930 will only work on 2G in north America.

I used my 9930 in Dominican Republic on Claro but only got Edge
