Amazon UK listed it for 549.99 and this site is listing it as (519.99 Free delivery
    RRP 549.99 Save 30.00)

Looks like RIM is about to shoot in their foot if this price (RRP 549.99) turns out to be real.....way tooooo expensive..

Excluding VAT, do you pay significantly more for your gadgets in the UK?

Its possible, RIM & Vodafone in the UK do have a close relationship, so we can only hope.

I am with Vodafone UK and I think I may just get this free on contract in about 6 months when my current one finishes, as I'm sure not paying that for a phone (which I was going to do if it had been the usual 399 and that to me is still alot to ask), even one as lovely as this! Just my opinion

Can anyone other than this website here confirm this is coming out in August for UK? If this is due on "12 August 2011" in UK, then Canada and US should have an early date?

    torch launch price - 500

i expected it to be circa 500 but im sure somewhere it said 400 on the blogs, ah well all i`ll say is play have had the dates wrong before, i had a 9105 pre-ordered and they changed the date on the day it was due in to a month later, so put what weight on that you wish.

also theres someone in london with 4 9900`s doing ebay buy it now collect only for 600

They dont, have a look around at the other BB's and you will see that most of them excluding the Torch dont even hit close to 400-500.

Indeed and i bought my Torch back last oct for about 450 and didnt think it was even close to being worth that...ended up selling it 6mths later for 300.

If thats the price circa 500ish then i find that a bit expensive but ill still get one as its got beefire hardware specs and also the design of it ie stainless frame probably adds to the price being that high.

Not sure where ill get mine, ill probably get it either from mobilefun or handtec as they seem to be the cheapest for sim free BB's.

In fact handtec are taking pre-orders for the 9900 sim free for 510 and so far they seem to be the cheapest out of the lot, the price is here : http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php...034e2838292158

550 is utterly ridiculous. I'm hoping Amazon just dreamed up a price and then Play.com copied it and slapped a discount on it. It should definitely be nearer the 400 mark.

Just an update from the other side of the world: My uncle manages Blackberry's Inventory here in India. He informed me that the Bold 9900 will arrive at his warehouses on the 7th or 8th of August at the latest, following which it will be sent to retailers immediately, with a launch date of 16th august.
However these dates are tentative as any logistic delay could push the launch date by a couple of days at most.

Also the pricing is expected to be INR 32,000 ($ 720) - IN 28,000 ($630). (that is the price point the blackberry torch was released) This he is not very sure of.
