    Hello everybody,

Been lurking around the forums for some time now, but I have tried everything (again) to get my 9900 to boot up. Girlfriend spilled water on her 9360, so I wanted to give her my 9900 as I had just found it in its box in my storage. As soon as I picked it up I remember why I left it there, as it was bricked/nuked (I'm aware they are different but I actually don't know which one means what).

The only reason I believe it's still a phone and not a paperweight is because previously when I first purchased and used the phone, I have successfully got it going again after it was bricked or nuked using the handy guides on the forums. This time, it gets stuck at reconnecting to JVM. I went out and bought a new battery, uninstalled desktop manager and also multiple different versions of the os but yet I am still having no luck. When I plug it in, the loader always recognizes it (although it will appear and disappear as it is constantly rebooting) and if I choose to go through the desktop software, it will also recognize it so that must mean there is a chance to save it, hopefully?

I hope there is a solution, as the guides I looked up were all made around 2012; perhaps there is a more recent solution to this issue? Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Again for the reboot loops I have been successful reviving my device by removing the battery from the device. Then navigate to On your PC, navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader . Next you'll want to select the loader.exe file (will be an icon that looks like a cartoon 7230 BlackBerry, adorable). This pulls up the Application Loader Wizard and you'll see a "Connection" Selection box. BEFORE you continue, and WITH the BATTERY REMOVED, attach your device to the USB cable, then the USB cable to your PC. Now click "Next". This should allow for the process of reloading your device's OS to begin. (**NOTE:You may have to try disconnecting then reconnecting the USB cable a few times, but usually it should work on the 1st try...) When you see the device wizard begin to delete and reinstallong your applications, put your battery BACK into the device. This should help you get it working again...

    Thanks for your reply CivilDissident,

I have gone through loader countless times, after it erases applications, loads system software, and all that good stuff, it will ALWAYS stop at, "Reconnecting to JVM." I've tried it exactly as you've said, without the battery and then reinserting the battery when things get going, and many other methods suggested on the forums but I'm still having this one issue. Not sure what to do!

Have you, by chance, tried seeing if you are able to boot your device in Safe Mode? (Remove the battery then reinsert it. After the red led flashes press and hold down the Back key as it is loading... Keep holding it until the screen appears advising of the Safe Mode boot, then hit OK. IF you can get the device to boot this way try a security wipe and then pull the battery once more...

I have had success with the App Loader... The only other thing I can think of (understanding you've tried all the obvious methods) is maybe a safe mode boot?

Unfortunately, nothing seems to happen when I attempt to boot it in Safe Mode. The App Loader has worked for me in the past as well, which is why I am so confused as to why this particular time it will not work. Thanks for your help, CivilDissident!

it seems that there is a bunch of 9900 with the same problem, same period.Stop.
I have a 9900 which is used as standby phone with a sim from my home country, until recently was working perfectly for the recent years.
Few months ago and after some install/remove of some applications and an upgrade to the latest available OS I had the first appearance of "JVM error 102". As I hadn't enough time for pampering a mobile I just dropped it in my briefcase.
When I had time, my 9900 was dead due to empty battery and whatever else. After advices and ideas from this forum I did a successful revive. Since that day it was used very few times, mostly for some sms and was always charged with the cradle charger.

Since before yesterday, when was necessary to reboot it realized that the "JVM error 102" was there and willing to stay while ruining my weekend. I have reinstall several time the OS using , desktop software, jm commander, bsak etc etc most of the times is not booting even for the first time. I went to blackberry service center of Singapore and they did a reload of an official OS (?said) after the first reboot again "JVM error 102".

As I have seen into log files, each time different cod is causing hash error, some other times there is no reference to a cod file (eg wikitube links ???) and I have quote here the latest log file retrieved.

Safe mode is not functioning as described above or as described here

    Any idea?
