Hello all I have a bold 9900 with anactive blackberry data plan. Bis works fine using mobile data but will not work using wifi.

I have tried a device wipe of the phone andthis still hasn't fixed the issue.

does anyone know what the problem may be and how to fix this thank you.

This is only a guess. Did you enter your pass word for your wifi network when you set up your phone? This is only a guess.

my phone is connected to the wifi network. the blackberry logo won't move from 3g to the wifi. if I turn off mobile network and leave wifi on it will nlt work.

Could your carrier be the reason? Here in Austria, Orange doesn't allow BIS via WiFi for users of their smallest BIS package.
What carrier are you on?

I have been doing a lot of searching about this and I think my carrier is the problem. I am using giffgaff in the uk. Apparently they don't support the service books for bis over wifi. Hopefully this will change soon. I can still make wifi calls over skype and bbm so I am happy abouit that.
