This or the torch2?
So I have this mental debate going on in my head and it's really annoying. I can't decide between the torch 2 or bold touch.I have at&t so I'm pretty sure sure the bold touch is coming, along with the torch 2.The reason I'm even considering the bold touch is because it looks like a really quality device that RIM really focused on, but I'm so used to the big torch screen. What's your input? What would you do? P.s. Will the torch 2 have NFC like the bold touch?

I was having the same debate in my head. I love the Torch and its larger screen. But I really miss the big comfy keyboard of the Bold. So I did a little measuring (posted in another thread a few weeks back). In portrait orientation, where I do all my typing on the Torch, the Bold's screen is wider than the Torch's, and not all that much narrower than the Torch's in landscape. So I really feel I'm not losing much usable screen space. The difference is the keyboard for me - I'm about 99% sold on the 9900.

I actually made a comparison image of the Torch screen (grey) compared to the Bold Touch screen (black). All together, the bold screen is around 85% of the size of the Torch screen, which really isn't that big of a deal to me.
I cropped the actual screens from this picture:

Wow, you're right you had me sold on the screen width. So I guess I'm getting the bold touch, thanks, no more debating.

I love the Torch, but miss the form factor of the Bold...and now the screen is larger on the new 9900....my thoughts as of this moment....Bold 9900 :)

Who wants a rickety old slider anyway ;)

i came on here looking for news on the torch2, but am now set on the bold touch!

If the screen is what is making you decide, lets not forget about the liquid graphics.
-
keyboard is the deciding factor
-
Go with Network first then phone.

Was not impressed with the keyboard or sliding mechanism of the Torch 2. I'd get the Bold 99xx.

Get the bold touch, then the torch2 later in the year :)
I might just have to do that since I am due for an upgrade, and I am itching!!!!

Yeah, I agree, the slider kept on moving wobbling, and the keyboard was creaky when pressing on the left side of the bezel (from usage).Bold here I come!

My torch slider was solid for over 6 months. Just depended on the unit.
I fixed the keyboard creaking myself, wasn't too hard. Just a form factor preference. One doesn't exactly replace the other.
Touchscreen real estate is always easier to use the larger the screen is physically, but larger screens have to make some sacrifices too...
