Did my usual handset check for updates this morning and there is nothing available; 7.0 is still current according to the OTA updater.
BUT...when I plugged in to Desktop Manager to sync my calendar it informed me that an update is available;
7.1 Bundle 921 (v7.1.0.267, Platform 5.1.0.230)
An update of BlackBerry Device Software version 7.1 is available. This update includes optimizations and enhancements approved by your wireless service provider. Note: If your device is associated with an email account that uses a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, contact your administrator for more information about updating.
Yes I mentioned that (oops I actually said 858 not 585; but yes the website hasn't been updated). Not sure what's going on but I'm downloading something.....
Anyway; Telus is out; I'm installed, everything seems to work. Mobile Hotspot is on-board of course; how do I tell if the wifi calling or UMA is enabled?
I won't get the DM pop up for this because I already have the leaked OS 7.1 installed on my Telus phone. But it would be nice to see an official update from Telus, which used to be like AT&T when it comes to releasing new OS versions for their BlackBerry users.
It's .267 and RIM's software download site is always the last place to get updated.
This OS will still show as a 'Recommended' update for you if you use DM.
Yes, I know that the RIM's website updates on downloads are slow. I am going to change my leaked OS .267 to this one because it would be identical. I wonder if Telus is aware of the few bugs I found.
