I got my Bold 9930 yesterday. Like everyone else, I have spent the last day and a half customizing and getting to know the updated changes. One I noticed while talking on the phone was that I could surf the web at the same time. I wonder if it may have been because I was using wifi while i was on the phone? None the less, I will try tomorrow without the wifi to see if it works. I don't anticipate that it will as the only phones designed for that ability are the LTE 4G phones.

Hope everyone is enjoying their new phones!!!

On CDMA, you can not talk/surf at the same time. WiFi, yes. GSM, yes.

    What he said^^

Verizon (CDMA) Bold 9930 you CANNOT talk & surf at the same time

Other carriers GSM/HSPA Bold 9900 you CAN talk & surf at the same time

Technical limitation of CDMA vs GSM technologies

I figured as much. I had the Thunderbolt and tried the Droid Charge and they both could talk and surf because of LTE. Thanks for validating my suspicion!

with CDMA, let's say I'm streaming a video, will the data stop and allow the call to go through or will it just go to voicemail?

Yes, but I am still right!

Verizon 4G is not CDMA, its LTE - a new technology they are migrating to. The 9930 is CDMA 3G, not LTE 4G

Certain VZW phones can accomplish this on 3G. The Thunderbolt being one of them. I thought maybe this BB could also.
