My 9900 is creating a date under the messages box of 24/5/43 - and is putting new messages in this date... I have taken the battery out twice, and checked that the phone under date and time is showing the correct date... any ideas where, why and how this random date has arisen ?

While you're there in the future, can you tell me what the lottery numbers results are for this Saturday?
You want me to look out for Marty McFly while I'm there?!

....I had a similar weird thing happen to me the other day... I installed Target Date from the App World and suddenly my phone's date started reading something 2043, and it also for some reason screwed up my App World / Protect ID's as well. So I had to spend the next couple of hours re-loading the OS thru DM and then sorting out all my previous apps' settings. Sigh. Not a fun evening! To be fair tho, Target Date is working fine so that may not necessarily have been the root cause of the problem.
So maybe you could try doing the same? That is, re-installing your previous OS thru DM (which may or not be the exact same as you're already using - mine's still the stock one and so was my only option) and seeing if that has any effect? Could be two totally different problems and therefore two totally different solutions too tho of course?

I had the same problem. It was caused by SMS messages from a few people, while others' would show up as normal. No idea how to get rid of it, I just deleted the texts in question as all my new messages would be below these from 2043. Must be a OS 'feature'.

Had the same issues......you have to do a security wipe.....start fresh again. That will solve that problem.

i had the same problem after loading the OS but the solution was not far fetched. i simply went to the date-time section under options and changed the date and time from there and everything worked fine since then.

i guess it was a programming thing when the OS was put together.
