    Hi Everyone,

I've searched all over the net for this but I can't seem to find an answer. I've had this strange notification on my Bold 9900 for the past couple of days and I can't seem to find the application or how to clear it. A screenshot can be seen at the link below. Any ideas on what this is??

Anyone know what this notification is? I have no idea what it is or how to clear it

    Thanks!

I wish it were that easy! Only notifications that I can clear directly from the bar are emails, messages, calendar notifications, and app updates. Other notifications require you to go directly to the app. This is frustrating.

What 3rd party apps do you have?

Betting this is the key. I get a custom notification from Fighting Words when an opponent enters a word for example - only clears if I open the game.

OP, have you done a "Show All" and see if the notification * shows up attached to an icon somewhere?

When i hit show all none of my apps show a notification icon. I'm thinking it's a system notification buried deep somewhere

Its gotta be one of these apps you posted. Did you open up each one and check around?

Zoomed my firefox browser to max. wanted to see what it looked like - an opaque sheet or a photo with a curled edge? can't tell what's underneath . . .

I've literally opened every single app and nothing seems to clear it. Has no one seen this notification before??

It looks like a screen protector on top of a phone to me

well, a battery pull seemed to fix it! I usually do the 3-button soft reset instead of a battery pull so I didn't try it earlier... *smacks forehead*
I still don't know it was though

i thought it looked like a phone, too.

    BES or BIS?

Photo app, doc app, one of your multi-apps? Maybe indicates a new feed on your newsreader?

That's the icon for your (front facing) flashlight (app just turns your screen white).

If you have a flashlight app there's probably an update for it. Not sure why it would show its own icon instead of just an app world notification...

Hope it stays gone for you: I have HP ePrint and sent a print job to a store while i was on the road but never went to get it printed. Did everything i could think of, battery pulls worked for a bit, but always came back. Had to get HP help online to tell me how to do it.

    Yet that is odd though.

Funny how a true battery pull fixes some things huh?

JR, maybe it was turned on, but minimized? Or is part of a suite app/multi-app and was on but is set up for a short-cut key to toggle on/off?
