I have been waiting for a solid Release date. I have searched most of the credible sources on the net and the roadmaps all say the 21st of August. But The only Sprint annoucement states the Fall. Can anyone clarify this for me or possibly let me in on more info? I am going insane here LOL.

Pretty much every source I've seen has pointed to the 21st. Its safe to say thatll be the date. Even for the 9850.

The 21st cant come soon enough! Also, any theories as to why the US carriers are being so hush hush about the release date? I can understand they want to have an edge over their competition, but it seems strange that they aren't even making an "official" statement.

I think Sprint is secretive about the release so it can unload any leftover stock of old Bolds they have. At least VZ took the old Bolds off their website...

Agreed. I didn't think about it like that. They are still charging a pretty penny for a 2 year old BB. Good observation Sir!

All signs (good) point to Sprint launching BOTH Bold 9930 & Torch 9850 Sunday August 21st (regardless of "Coming This Fall) 3 Online Sprint chat CSR's all say "Coming VERY soon" the BlackBerry Store rep said looks like end of August. If the Wireless Giant BB Store roadmap is correct, and the store sales people have or shortly get 0S7 training, then if you call Monday 08/15, I'm sure they'll have more info on it launching the upcoming Sunday 08/21. IMO, still confident 08/21..will be @ BlackBerry Store in Farmington Hills promptly at 11:45am waiting for the doors to open at 12pm

I'm honestly hoping to the highest phone gods that Sprint is not holding back because they maybe/maybe not get the dang iPhone. That will just mess up everything. They put so much in to that ratchet device carriers let the other choices fall by the waist side.

I don't think that will happen, RIM & Sprint have had an excellent relationship, I think Sprint will be getting most of the CDMA BlackBerry devices anyway. Has for Sprint/Apple/iphone 5, NOTHING yet has been officially mentioned, IMO, it'll be a 50/50 chance Sprint gets the iphone 5 this year even. Despite the "Coming This Fall", Sprint will get the BB Bold 9930 in eleven days

What about me? Sprint BB Red Curve 8330 got a year after it was officially released June 2009 from Best Buy $49.99...312mgz processor, a whole 96MB of RAM and a 1GB Sandisk microSDHC card included (which 3 months later upgraded to a 4GB card) 2MP cam...and I've loved it for the last 2yrs...but it'll be like Dorothy opening the door into Oz when I get the Bold 9930

OMG! I can't believe it's finally here! Not too happy about the $249 price but oh well...been saving and waiting and still getting! This is the highest price I've seen a phone launch in a while! Not even the EVO launched this pricey and there was a higher anticipation for that one!

The Touch Pro 2 launched at $299 on Sprint and the Epic 4G launched at $249 last year. Both of those prices were after MIR. Yikes!!

Good news Sprint is still continuing their "Instant Rebate" program (Indefinatly, but I'm sure it'll be ongoing until October)
