Well my telecom specialist in IT orders all the phones for our company. We have over 13000 employees and our account is with AT&T. She told me today we have stopped stocking all Blackberries except the Torch and she has a pre-order waiting for the 9900. She already tried to place it with AT&T and they had her hold it until June. She expects it to arrive in June but thats just her guess based on AT&Ts response to her pre-order.

You guys all post in threads asking questions about info on when a phone will be launched... then a guy posts something he heard and he gets beat up about it.
    Why bother post anything anymore?

lol the dude quoted his friends mom. I commend his sincerity in trying to hook us up with information but that's pretty comical.

I agree with you. As far as I've been looking around on this forum I really liked the community, but is this how we have to threat people who are new to this forum? He was just trying to help give us some information, something we're constantly looking for and now someone gives us some information and everyone is just making fun of him. It just doesn't make sense. The comments don't even contain constructive feedback or what so ever. How mature..

A more positive way to read this post:

The way I read this post was DeeDudnath has a friend who's Mom works at Rim. No where did I read that DeeDudnath said "Rim will release the phone", so I'd take this to mean that from what the OP understands from his friend, is that the various carriers will be releasing the phones somewhere late June early July. My best guess is mid-summer!
By the way DeeDudnath thanks for posting the information for us - it gives us hope
That's also how I read it. People, sometimes folks do know people at companies that have inside info. What our job here is take any info we get here with a grain of salt but notice the info as it may be true.

I mentioned in a prior post that someone at a Verizon near me mentioned that they were to get BB specific training coming soon as they are suppose to be doing a big BB push later this year. Best info I could get from this person, but it was another piece to put together with what other info is out there. So like a puzzle, you take a piece of this, and a piece of that, and maybe you have a clear picture of what's happening at the end...

"LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS!" like previous posters have said, you take any info with a HUGE grain of salt pro or con, and just piece the puzzle to some cohearant shape...I think most of us have been waiting and waiting AND waiting for RIM to release a really good state of the art smartphone and when they FINALLY announce that they do indeed have one, they become very vauge on a release date, just "coming this summer", which most of us very impatient AND loyal Blackberry users find frustrating. We want it NOW! and we want to get it, and show our non-Blackberry friends, and former Blackberry users, "SEE! this is what you're missing" lol. And then come on sites like this and share our new found enthusiasim with the Bold 9900/9930 with fellow owners. So for me, if your sister's former brother in law's 2nd cousin (who moved to Germany for 2yrs, but came back because of "bad karma") talked to a guy at a bar in Waterloo, ONT right before last call, who is best friends with the janitor at RIM...then it's all good for me because we will know soon enough offically, i'm sure.

Just to let you guys know.... I HAVE NO IDEA when 9900 will come out in Canada. But I work at BestBuy and we have a NEW training module(training is done on computers) from RIM sitting in our server for about a month now. I hope it is the 9900 training module. It is not open to use yet, we can see a link to it on our training system saying: "available soon".

No... I don't know when it will be out and no I don't know anyone who works at RIM, Telus, Rogers or Bell. But I do know that we got a new training modules from RIM. This is a good sign because BestBuy Canada received training modules for PlayBook about a month BEFORE it was released. Again, I have no idea when 9900 will come out in Canada, but BestBuy is getting ready for it now.

What is the turnover generally like from opening up the modules to release day? Is it a month? less?

With RIM, it about a month. The time period changes depending on the vendor. This this case the vendor is RIM+Rogers+Telus+Bell+etc+etc and it is hard to say when.... The reason I can't even guess is that not like PlayBook which I received training a month before they put on the market,(controlled by RIM ONLY), it is hard with all the other players. All phones depend on the service providers like Rogers, Telus and Bell to go ahead and sell. So, I can't guess when will it be out. But if ONE service provider in Canada decided to sell 9900, I will get training at least a week before they put it out for sale.

That's why I always say to people who claim "I know someone from RIM..."; it is NOT the RIM that decide when it will go on sale. It is the mobile companies.

I will try to keep you guys updated on any news I get from BestBuy. I only work on weekends and go to school all other days (I hate the summer school Chemistry class)

EDIT: Also this training module is there for a month already. I posted about this when it first came out on crackberry... so, I have no clue why it takes so long.

That's pretty interesting. I'm gonna hope that the reason Playbook started a month before release is because it was a totally new product that RIM put a lot of emphasis on. For some reason I don't see it being the same amount of time for another Bold.

But yeah thanks for the info.

Would you guys go on your lunch hour from work to the phone store to buy the new Bold? I might but probably won't "work" for the rest of that day....

Also I wonder if there will be swarms of buyers at the store like on the Storm 1 release day, or night!
