Yes! I would like to detect bbm users that are close by.
Right now my device is just detecting bbm users from like 50 km away.
Does this wikitude only work for OS7 users?

ericlc2... what in the world are you trying to say? Did you mean to post links instead of quotes?

Wikitude works only for OS 7 now. I did see on their website that they will be making versions for OS 5 + 6. Right now, you and whoever you want to interact with on Wikitude need OS 7 and a working version of Wikitude.

For setting distance. When you open Wikitude, you can click on any of the 'worlds', as long as you have the Augmented Reality screen open (You will see a small yellow circle in the top left side of the screen, tap it and a small slide bar will appear at the top.

You can slide from side to side to select how far to scan and bring in information. To select how far you want to show other users (I think the limit is 62 Kilometers or 38.53 Miles
