is there any way to set the sleep button (the button at the top of the phone) also as a dedicated security lock. This way the phone will lock every time i hit that button. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hold down the letter A/* or turn off universal search/switch to homescreen shortcuts and use K

Scratch that.. A/* doesn't security lock anymore (on 7.1 never tried on 7.0, I use K)

Ditto on the K shortcut. You'll need to turn off dial from home to use keypad shortcuts, however.

Yeah... *A has always been a screen/keyboard lock. Does the same as the top button.
