That's odd.. I called two att stores today and they had no info on the 9900. They prob got it confused with the 9810. That one is coming out on sunday.

I believe AT&T officially said that they were going to release the 9810 first, then the 9900 later....................I hope beyond hope, that somehow they changed their mind.
To the OP's defence I'm going to believe you prob were told it was coming sunday and its the rep who actually got it confused with the 9810. Its pretty much a fact att is going with the torch before the bold.

Sadly...at&t is going to give the Torch 9810 a hard start, and not release the 9900 until say mid fall. The reason is pretty simple, if they don't, they won't sell any 9810's. Nobody wants that phone! However, RIM and at&t continue to force an old and out dated form factor down the customers throats. Sad if I must say so...

Stop projecting your own opinions onto the general BB populace. Maybe you don't want the 9810, but plenty of people do. They think the 9900's screen is too small and does not offer a full enough touchscreen experience, but they are BB users who want a keyboard and do not want an iPhone or the 9850. They are willing to put up with a slightly more cramped and sliding keyboard to get that experience. It's a matter of personal preference.
And if one more noob or twice a month poster puts up another "an AT&T store rep told me" thread . . . grrrrr.

Knowing the average AT&T rep, I wouldn't be surprised if the information they're holding in their heads is "the new Blackberry is coming" and they'll translate that to mean whichever model number you throw at them, bless

the different devices are options.not everyone likes the same thing.the torches offer large touch screen real estate and autofocus camera which bold lacks.if rim didn't have torches in their lineup, then it would be like apple.rim would be a 1 phone based company.and if you look up and down rim's lineup, you will see people are widespread all over-curve,pearl,torch,bold,pearl flip, storm, etc.so different form factor suites different people.the one thing apple has been successful with is that even though they have only 1 phone, its a phone that meets the criteria for so many consumers.thats why it is a bestseller.for rim,its a different approach scheme, and it works as well.
