On Vodafone it's free from 31! That includes 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb data for 2 years.
I'm getting the 36 a month contract with 1000 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb data.
Both prices found through the Carphone Warehouse.
Can I ask where you heard this from? It's not that I disbelieve you, but after speaking with retentions at Orange UK last month who told me mid-August, the premier service upgrade team told me this afternoon that it wasn't coming out this month. Thanks ifraser, and fingers crossed your guy was right!

just got a text from my friend who works in orange, they'll be getting it in two weeks.
phones4u are releasing vodafone and orange versions on 15th.
That price point is ridiculous, that's the same as the iPhone and for all the BB love, they are not comparably valuable products.
If that's genuinely the case I'm considering switching network, or waiting until the new iPhone is out
Pathetic that the US can't get these g'damn phones out.
best price iv seen is cpw on vodafone.
150 up front and 36 for 12 months. thats 582 total over a year for a 520 (price on play.com) phone. plus of course 300 mins, 3000sms 500Mb data and BIS. by far the cheapest contract for the 9900 :)
Orange shop in Glasgow, it only appeared on their system, sat morning. I also spoke to Orange premier this morning and got the Mid-August due to testing line.
Hate to say this but thats the same offer orange or doing, I quoted the tariff for the free phone but you can pay upfront also on the lower tariffs,
And I agree with the 15-17th being what we seem to be getting told, apart from the TESTING that they have to do, Although I dont think Orange would need to change much after RIM pre-tested it. :)
Looks like I'll be going straight to disconnections to get a good deal. It works every time. You should try it:D
some good news for orange uk users, the 9900 has appeared on the coming soon pages (and has appeared between sony erricsion and the white galaxy s2 so will be released between them i'm assuming)
also orange contracts have appeared on carphone warehouse website so its coming soon (and if your on T mobile UK it means it should be soon as orange get the phones just before tmobile uk)
I might try upgrades the beginning of next week and see what they say. Now they have it on the website they should actully know which phone you're talking about...
I do wish I someone decides to rename my topic they could at least spell, I mean rumor is not even the correct
Spelling. It should be rumour. Learn english folks.
And that was a fact posting from the orange system.
I have since spoken to another orange shop and premier upgrades and the end of next week look
Like the date.

Anyone heard any more on this?
Coming soon
BlackBerry Bold
it depends on the spelling diff. sir...american or british, both are correct.
Well, if the OP is British, then it should have been changed to 'Rumour', surely?
As I said in the general UK thread:
I just spoke to someone in the termination team for Orange who wasn't up to date because she'd been on holiday for 3 weeks. She checked with a collegue and then said it will be available in a week or two and to phone back next Friday. Not sure how much of that was her trying to prevent me from leaving but I can wait another week and then end it then if it still isn't available...
I'm going to go into the Orange Store on Sunday and see if anyone there can corroborate otherwise I might jump ship early.
Just spoke to an orange representive - the phones have been delayed until early october due to issues with blanks screens errors, BBM & issues receiving email. All 5000 phonesthat were received were sent back to be fixed. They should have been ready for mod September but it's been delayed again.
He also advised if youre on Orange & go via Carphone warehouse & Phones 4U not to do so as quote "they are being returned by the bucket load" his words not mine.
Roll on October...
Thanks, I am aware of the US/UK spelling differences but my main gripe was it wasnt rumour but facts given to me by orange upgrades.
This has now been moved to October.....different reasons given
a) They are still testing
b) O2/Vodafone has exclusive till then
Not sure which one it is or why they have to spin out lies to customers.
