Today August 9th 09:30am i just spoke to a friend of mine at Rogers who is a rep in Montreal Canada.

Said that the BB9900 now appears in his system and that the order is coming on the 10th of August

Im not with Rogers but if Bell dont get their stuff together fast i have no problem switching as i am not under contract anymore

I've just called into 5 Rogers Wireless Stores and two Best Buy stores.
The Rogers stores cannot verify any release dates, and do not have the phone in stock.
Both Best Buy stores say the release is at least after the 15th, and will sell it if they have it in stock.

Rogers Customer Relations has the phone in the system, ready for upgrade, but I'm pretty sure once they get to the pricing page, it's "$." as they have no pricing to use to bill for the hardware yet. I can confirm as well, they've mentioned the outright pricing to be $499. I asked them if I could order one phone outright from them, but they said it can only be done in store, despite my offer to give them my credit card information over the phone.

I've called a couple Best Buys in Ottawa. Both have the SKUs in the system but no date yet. One of them said the price outright was $599 but can't sell them off-contract until a month after release.

Oh Rogers, WTF??? I have a bad feeling Rogers is releasing the 9900 first at the major Rogers Plus stores and through CS. They did this with the Bold 9000 if I'm not mistaken. Or it could have been the 9700. You could only get it through Rogers first. Then it hit Best Buy, Future Shop etc. a month later. I hope this is NOT the case.

At rogers plus kp in winnipeg picking up a 9900. They just got the box in. Future shop on regent ave also has physical stock as well.
