Glad to help. It has been around for along time. And I've found it very necessary since all of my prior bb's and the current 9930 have been encased in Otterboxes so a battery pull is a major task.

Yeah its not fun pulling either the commuter or defender off to pull the battery. They are the hardest cases in the world to get off this phone.
There are also a number of apps which allow a restart.
3-finger salute is the simplest, unless you have a 9850 like I do. I'm partial to deLightReset. Free 14 day trial to see if you like it, very small foot print, works every time without issue, you can schedule reboots whenever you want and it will automatically dismiss the confirmation dialog too! Well worth the $1.99.
QuickLaunch is also another app I love...not only does it allow you to schedule reboots, but gives you a one-touch option to launch a lot of apps, speed dial contacts, take screen shots, etc.
Very true indeed, does it work if the device is frozen as well?

It may depend on HOW FROZEN. Try it. If it does not work, then pull the battery.
re: other discussions of the Otterbox (defender in my "case") - when I do remove it, I'm amazed at how sleek this phone is although I would have traded more battery power for a somewhat thicker phone.
