I'm considering updating my OS from 7.1.0.714 (which I've had for a year or more) to the Latest Official OS for Bold 9900 7.1.0.1098 from O2 UK (listed in the sticky).

Just wondered if anyone can tell me whether the later bold OS's have fixed the distorted music player issue (distorts playback after pausing and resuming play)? This is the main complaint I have with the device as I use it to play music a lot.

Also just wanted to check that UMA or wifi calling still works on the later versions?

I've tried searching for these answers with no luck.

The music player issue was fixed way back. 714 is ancient now. Don't know about UMA as I'm with Voda UK.

That's good to hear, cos it drives me up the wall! I thought I'd be way behind with the OS by now. I'm with Orange/EE. According to the handset there are no updates available. I wonder why they don't tell you when there's a better one available? I didn't know that Vodafone didn't support uma.

Andy, you don't have to wait for EE to release an update. Load up the latest shown in the sticky at the top of the 9900 forum. EE are the only UK carrier to support UMA. I use the Vodaphone Sure Signal unit to get 3G over the internet at home and it works extremely well.
